Sophie Scholl - The final days

Why is it important to stand up for what you believe in? Why is tolerance an important value? This mini-unit about the student resistance group Die Weiße Rose connects with the 8th grade Holocaust unit. We will talk about doing the right thing, both on a large scale  (WW II) and on a smaller scale  (in school and in the classroom).

Losing Loved-ones
during WWII

So many people here in the US have/had family that fought or died in WWII. Jerry Springer's grandparents on both sides of his parents were killed by the Nazis. In this interview from The Rosie Show, Jerry Springer talks about having losing part of his family and how his parents survived.

This interview is very emotional and shows how much of an impact the Holocaust has on people to this day.
