Warten auf dich

Even Rockstars might have been bullied in school. The lead singer of Die Toten Hosen, one of the most popular German Punk bands, wrote a song about his own experiences with bullying.

Die Toten Hosen are a well-know Gernman Rock/ Punk band. They opened up for Green Day in the US and in return Green Day used to open up for Die Toten Hosen in Germany before they had their big international break.

As part of this unit we will listen to this song and examine its lyrics.

Anti-Mobbing Videos aus Deutschland

Bullying is not a new topic, but unfortunately it has drasticaly increased not just in American schools, but in Germany and other countries as well. More and more German schools struggle with "mobbing" and just like at PAMS, schools in Germany create videos to promote tolerance and sticking up for each other.

This video is called Schaut nicht weg (Don't Look Away). The message is clear: Racism is not accepted here!
Here is another student created video from a German school. This one addresses the problem of bystanders not coming to the victims help.

Bullying is the number one reason for teenage suicide. All you need to do to help is reach out and lend someone in need a hand!
